Does E.ON Next sell renewable energy?
E.ON Next sells 100% renewable electricity and offsets the carbon emissions associated with customer’s gas use. The delivered electricity comes from National Grid and DNOs. An amount of the renewable electricity will be generated directly by E.ON Next with the biomass plants in Lockerbie and Sheffield, but mainly E.ON Next buys renewable energy certificates or obtains it from independent renewable generators across the UK.
What does 100% renewable energy mean?
Energy that comes completely from sustainable sources can be declared as 100% renewable energy. Unlike other energy sources such as coal, renewable energy sources won’t run out. Do E.ON Next offer green gas?
With the Next Climate+ tariff, E.ON Next offers the greenest tariff yet. It comes with 100% offset gas and 100% renewable electricity for your home. If you sign up for the tariff, E.ON Next promises to plant five new trees on your behalf for every year you’re on the tariff.
What is the difference between green gas and offset gas?
Green gas is produced through anaerobic digestion, therefore it is renewable and sustainable energy that works the same as regular “non-green gas”. The process of making green gas is organic. The carbon that will be set free is equal to the carbon that will be absorbed, so it can be declared as nearly carbon neutral.
Offset gas can be understood as the process of reducing carbon emissions made in order to compensate for emissions made elsewhere. Offsets will be scaled in tonnes of carbon dioxide-equivalent. Companies such as E.ON Next offset every tonne of carbon from their gas usage by supporting carbon neutral initiatives and funding of clean energy projects.
Is E.ON Next really green?
E.ON Next provides 100% renewable electricity for all customers without an extra charge for almost two years. Additionally they offer carbon offset gas and tree planting. With the greener tariffs, E.ON Next offers a wide range of green and sustainable solutions to customers. While E.ON Next cannot claim to be the ‘greenest’ energy supplier on the market, they are more environmentally friendly than some of their competitors.

Poor and slow service
"Poor and slow service. Moving home has taken 5 weeks for me to get past the security questions. Rather than them asking for all the information in one go they keep coming back on separate occasions to ask for further information, each time another 5 days go past. Wouldn't recommend at all."
