How to make the switch?

Switching energy suppliers has never been so quick and easy. When you’re moving home, you just need to ensure that you have followed a few quick steps to get going with your new energy plan in West Midlands.

  1. Firstly, when you walk out the door of your old house, take a note of the meter reading for your records. Also leave that information in an easy place to find for the next residents of the property. This is to make a note of how much you used, and to stop you being accidentally overcharged by your provider.
  2. Next, do the same in your new home in West Midlands! Find the energy meter so you can jot down the reading. It’s possible that the supplier of your new property might request a meter reading to know when to start charging you for the energy you have used yourself. So make sure to keep a note of this so your supplier knows how much to charge you!
  3. Lastly, when you move house, you’ll probably inherit a ‘deemed’ contract. This means that you carry on the contract that the previous inhabitants of the property had agreed to. You might like this plan, and want to stick with it! But it’s likely that you will want to switch over to a different tariff, as your energy requirements will probably be very different. If you’re not sure who provides energy to your new house, or if the previous inhabitants of the house didn’t leave you a note with the energy information, you can simply visit Ofgem website to find out who your new supplier is.

British Gas have lot’s of information online about switching over to one of their plans. However, if you want free, quick, and unbias information about making this switch, don’t hesitate to give us a ring on 0330 054 0018 and we can talk you through the best plan for you.
